Capitec Global One requirements and conditions
To open a Capitec Global One account and apply for a credit facility, you must meet specific criteria set by Capitec Bank and the National Credit Act (NCA).
Minimum requirements
- Age: You must be 18 years or older.
- Residency: You must possess a valid South African ID document or Smart ID card.
- Income: For credit facilities, you need a regular, verifiable monthly income (salary) deposited into a bank account.
- Employment: You must be employed (not self-employed for standard personal loans, though business accounts have different rules).
Required documents
- Original South African ID document (must be 18 years or older).
- Latest salary slip (if applying for credit).
- 3 months' bank statements (if your salary is not paid into your Capitec account).
Credit conditions
Capitec performs a comprehensive affordability assessment and credit bureau check. Active defaults, judgments, or being under debt review will result in a declined credit application. Interest rates are personalized based on your credit profile, up to the NCA maximum.
