Repaying the FNB Personal Loan
The contractual instalment is fixed for the term you sign, up to 72 months. FNB’s FAQ PDF is the source for Take-a-break, not a blog rumour.
Collection methods FNB actually names
Take-a-break applies when you repay by debit order or EFT, the term is longer than 7 months, and the account is up to date. The holiday month is January. The PDF does not list till-points, retail cash desks, or a third-party kiosk brand, so those channels are omitted here.
The monthly line in the official example bundles capital, interest, the R69 service fee, and a R100 credit-life illustration. On terms longer than 7 months, credit life is mandatory (FAQ), so expect that premium on the quotation rather than treating it as optional add-on copy.
Early settlement
The NCA lets you settle instalment credit before the last month. FNB does not print a settlement-fee rand amount on the personal-loan page. Request the figure in the FNB App or on 087 730 5596.
Arrears
No penalty table sits on that URL. Arrears can still reach TransUnion or Experian under NCA information rules and can raise the cost of later credit. Use the loan desk number before a debit is returned.
Top-up while you repay
A top-up waives initiation and keeps a single R69 fee. It does not, on the published facts, rewrite Take-a-break. Re-read the new quotation.
