How to receive funds from a MoneyHello-matched loan

No funds ever leave MoneyHello because it compares loans rather than issuing them. After you accept an offer and sign the credit agreement, the matched lender pays you through one of South Africa's standard payment rails.

Disbursement methods and typical speed

MethodSpeedCostCap
EFT (same bank as lender)MinutesFree at most banksWithin bank rules
EFT (different bank)Same business day, often under 2 hoursFreeBank-specific

Partner lenders on MoneyHello's site commonly advertise same-day payouts, and signed agreements during business hours often show funds within a few hours.

Which banks are supported?

MoneyHello's lender panel covers every major South African retail bank: FNB, Standard Bank, ABSA, Nedbank, Capitec, Discovery Bank and TymeBank. Which lender you match with can slightly change the supported bank list.

What you need for a smooth payout

  • Your own-name bank account, aligned with your South African ID.
  • Account and branch details entered the same way on the MoneyHello form and the lender's final application.
  • Completed KYC/FICA with the chosen lender; payout stays blocked until this step finishes.

If funds have not arrived

  1. Make sure you finished the full signing workflow with the specific lender, not only the MoneyHello matching form.
  2. Look in your bank app for pending or delayed EFT credits; occasional lag of a few hours happens.
  3. Call the matched lender directly because MoneyHello neither holds nor releases funds and cannot speed up that lender's payout.
  4. Escalate to the National Credit Regulator if the lender stays silent after a full business day.

FAQ — Receiving funds

Can I receive funds to a cash-send mobile wallet? No. NCR-registered lenders on the MoneyHello panel require a verified bank account in the borrower's own name.

What if my bank account is at Capitec or TymeBank? Both work, along with the other major South African retail banks, across the lender panel.

Does MoneyHello ever hold my money before releasing it? No. The matched lender pays you directly, and MoneyHello never handles loan funds at any stage.
