Applying for a Capitec Personal Loan
You can lodge the file in the Capitec banking app or at a Capitec branch. Existing clients often see a pre-populated offer in the app and skip a cold start. People without an offer still use the same legal path: calculator, application, NCA test, quotation, accept or decline.
Practical sequence
- Open https://www.capitecbank.co.za/personal-banking/credit/personal-loans/ or the loan menu in the app.
- Set a rand amount inside R1,000–R500,000 and a term inside 7–84 months.
- Submit identity and budget data. Capitec will ask for extra papers if the file is thin; check the lender for that list.
- Wait while the bank reads TransUnion SA / Experian SA and runs affordability.
- Open the quotation. Look for your APR, the initiation line (the published example used R1,207.50), the monthly service line (example R69), and any credit-life premium.
- Accept only if the debit date and total cost are workable. Decline if you wanted a revolving Credit Facility instead.
Branch path
A consultant can capture the same application if you prefer a desk. Bring your ID. Ask them to print or display the quotation before you sign.
If the file stops
