Nedbank personal loan, not the Gold card
This listing covers Nedbank Limited’s unsecured instalment loan. It is a separate product from the revolving Nedbank Gold Credit Card. You borrow a lump sum between R2,000 and R400,000, then repay it over one of the published terms: 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 or 84 months. The Gold card is revolving spend with a monthly fee and an interest-free window if you clear the balance. Do not treat the two as the same facility.
What the public calculator shows
On https://personal.nedbank.co.za/borrow/personal-loans.html Nedbank publishes a worked example for R50,000 over 84 months:
| Item | Figure on the calculator |
|---|---|
| Monthly instalment | R1,923.47 |
| Monthly service fee | R69 |
| Total you repay | R115,408.20 |
| Initiation fee | R1,207.50 |
| Annual max interest | 29.25% |
| Max APR | 34.05% |
| The same tool tells visitors that, on average, South Africans pay interest of 18.25%–28%. Nedbank then says it will offer a rate from your payment history and risk profile. Treat 18.25%–28% as a calculator note, not a promised price. The legal maximums on that example are 29.25% annual interest and 34.05% APR. Your pre-agreement statement is the binding schedule. |
Fees and optional cover
Service is R69 a month on the published example. Initiation is a once-off processing charge added to the loan; the R50,000 case uses R1,207.50. Credit life appears on the calculator as an add-on or “I have my own insurance”. JustMoney repeats the official optional stance. Confirm the rand premium on the quotation before you accept.
How clients start
Existing Money app or Online Banking users open Borrow → Personal loan with a Nedbank ID. Nedbank says some clients already have an offer waiting. People who want a human path can request a callback and email the supporting files the consultant names.
Extra items on the marketing page
On-time instalments can earn Greenbacks. A separate cashback line (R200 a month) is advertised if you also hold a MiGoals Plus or Premium account; that is a packaged offer with its own terms, not part of the base loan price. Debit orders use DebiCheck. The calculator states no early-settlement fee and no late-penalty fee; missed payments can still damage a bureau file under the NCA.
