Applying for a Nedbank personal loan
Nedbank’s own page splits the journey into two official routes. Clients who already have a Nedbank ID work inside the Money app or Online Banking. Everyone else can ask for a callback and complete the rest by phone and email.
Step-by-step
- Price the loan on the public calculator — Amount R2,000–R400,000. Term one of 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84 months. The published R50,000 / 84-month case shows R1,923.47 a month and R115,408.20 total.
- Start the application — In the app or Online Banking open Borrow → Personal loan. On the website, use Get started or Ask us to call you back.
- Authenticate — Existing clients sign in with Nedbank ID. Nedbank states you might already have a loan offer waiting.
- Identity and income files — South African ID or passport, latest payslip, and three months’ statements if automatic retrieval fails.
- DebiCheck — Approve the debit-order mandate once so instalments can leave your account on salary date.
- Quotation — Confirm initiation (R1,207.50 on the R50,000 example), service R69, optional credit life, annual max interest 29.25% and max APR 34.05% if those caps still appear on your statement.
- Sign — Accept only after the pre-agreement statement matches the instalment you can carry.

If a consultant phones you
Nedbank says you may need to email the same files to finish a callback application. Use the address the agent gives you on that call, not a random inbox.
