Sibling pages: Standard Bank Personal Loan and FNB Personal Loan.
Absa versus Standard Bank
Absa advertises a higher ceiling (R350,000 vs R300,000) and a longer published term (84 vs 72 months). Standard Bank's file quotes a minimum ticket of R10,000; Absa's Personal Loan page states only the R350,000 cap. Absa's only public floor rate is 13.75% p.a. Do not import Standard Bank's band onto an Absa quote.
Absa versus FNB
FNB advertises a higher maximum (R450,000) and a shorter top term (72 months). Absa publishes a floor of 13.75% p.a. plus one 18% illustration. If you already hold an FNB or Absa transactional account, start with that bank's digital offer rather than a cold dual application.
Verdict
Pick Absa's standard Personal Loan when you need a multi-year rand lump sum up to R350,000 and you meet the R2,000 / banked-income / 18+ gate. Use Express or Instant only when the ticket and term match those other SKUs. Confirm the mandatory Credit Protection premium on the quotation before you treat the R2,113 example as your own instalment.
