Overview
Sunshine Loans accepts loan applications entirely online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The form itself takes only a few minutes to complete, and during business hours a credit decision is typically communicated within 60 minutes of submission. The guide below walks through every step of the process.
Step-by-Step Application Guide
Step 1: Visit the Sunshine Loans website Go to sunshineloans.co.za or navigate directly to the application portal at portal.sunshineloans.co.za/s/apply.
Step 2: Use the loan calculator On the homepage you will find a loan slider. Select your desired amount (R500–R4,000) and your preferred repayment term (4–49 days). The calculator displays the estimated total repayable amount before you proceed, giving you full cost transparency upfront.
Step 3: Click "Apply Now" Once satisfied with the displayed terms, click the "Apply Now" or "Get Started" button to open the application form.
Step 4: Complete the online form You will be asked to provide:
- Full name and South African ID number
- Contact details (mobile number and email address)
- Employment details (employer name, gross salary, payday date)
- South African bank account details (bank name, account number, branch code)
- Consent to a credit bureau check
Step 5: Upload supporting documents (if required) Depending on your profile, you may need to provide:
- A recent payslip or proof of income
- Three months' bank statements
- A copy of your South African ID
Step 6: Review the Pre-Agreement Statement and submit Before submitting, Sunshine Loans will show you the Pre-Agreement Statement and Quotation — a mandatory NCA document listing all fees, interest, and the total repayable amount. Read this carefully. If you accept the terms, submit your application.
Step 7: Await the credit decision During business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00–17:00) decisions are typically communicated within approximately 60 minutes. Applications submitted outside business hours are assessed on the next business day.
Step 8: Sign the loan agreement electronically If approved, the loan agreement is sent to you via email or the portal. Review it and, if you accept, sign electronically as instructed — typically by confirming an OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 9: Receive your funds Once the signed agreement is processed, Sunshine Loans initiates the EFT transfer to your South African bank account. Funding is available Monday to Sunday, 8:00–23:00.

- Apply for an amount you can realistically repay from a single payday
- Double-check your bank account number before submitting
- Ensure your South African ID is valid and not expired
- Apply during business hours for the fastest decision
