EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)
Standard disbursement rail used by most SA credit providers. Funds are credited to your SA bank account after approval and contract signing — typically within 1–2 hours during banking hours.
RTC (Real-Time Clearing)
Some lenders (including short-term providers) use RTC for near-instant crediting. Funds reflect in your account within seconds to minutes, 24/7 on participating banks.
Same-Bank Credit
If the lender and borrower hold accounts at the same bank, the credit is usually instant and does not depend on interbank clearing windows.
Comparison of Disbursement Methods
| Method | Typical Speed | Cost to Borrower | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Same-bank credit | Instant | Free | Where banks match |
| RTC | 30 seconds – 2 minutes | Free (absorbed by lender) | 24/7 participating banks |
| Standard EFT | 15 minutes – 2 hours | Free | Business hours primarily |
| Personal loan EFT | 1–2 business days | Free | Business days |
Important Conditions
- Funds must be disbursed only to a South African bank account held in your own name.
- Third-party accounts are not accepted by any regulated lender.
- You must have confirmed and authenticated any DebiCheck debit-order mandate before disbursement is triggered.
- If funds do not reflect within the expected window, contact the lender's support line — not Code Cash.
FAQ — receiving funds
Can Code Cash transfer money to me directly? No. Code Cash is not a lender and does not hold or transfer funds.
What if the lender says funds were sent but I have not received them? Allow the full clearing window, then contact the lender's support with your transaction reference. Your bank's support line can also confirm whether an inbound EFT is pending.
Can I choose which bank account receives the funds? Yes, but it must be an active SA account in your name. Lenders verify account ownership before disbursement.
