Bank Zero is one of the few banks in South Africa that has deliberately chosen to offer no web banking. This is a conscious architectural decision that reduces overhead costs (helping fund the zero-fee model) and concentrates security investment on a single, well-controlled interface.
Troubleshooting the Bank Zero App
App Will Not Install
- Ensure your phone meets the minimum OS requirements (Android 8.0+ or iOS 13+).
- Free up at least 200MB of storage space before downloading.
- Restart your phone and attempt the download again.
- If downloading via mobile data, switch to Wi-Fi.
App Will Not Open / Crashes on Launch
- Force-close the app and reopen.
- Check for an app update in the App Store or Google Play.
- Restart your phone.
- If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the app. Your account data is stored securely on Bank Zero's servers — reinstalling will not affect your account or funds.
Login Not Working / Biometric Rejected
- Ensure your phone's biometric data (fingerprint/Face ID) is enrolled in your phone settings.
- Try the app PIN as an alternative login method.
- If your PIN is forgotten, use the "Forgot PIN" / "Reset Access" option on the login screen.
Transaction Notification Not Received
- Check that notifications are enabled for Bank Zero in your phone's app settings.
- Ensure the app is not in battery-saver / restricted background mode.
- Check your internet connection.
Error When Making a Payment
- Confirm the recipient's account number and branch code.
- Ensure your account balance is sufficient for the payment amount.
